Report on Benefit for Wounded Officers plus Meeting Reminder

Fellow Servant-Warriors:

It has been a long holiday weekend but I wanted to get out a quick report on this past Saturday's benefit/tribute event for Chicago PD Officer Densey Cole and Mahnomen County (MN) Deputy Chris Dewey. In short, it was a HUGE success! We had officers from all over Colorado -- including marked units from as far away as Vail -- along with many of our brothers from Chicago PD and Mahnomen County (including Sheriff Doug Krier) who came down on their own time/dime to honour and support our wounded brothers and their families. Both guests of honour, along with their wives Mary Cole and Emily Dewey, were in attendance and both --PRAISE GOD -- are showing great progress! It might even be said that Chris couldn't get a word in because Denz wouldn't shut up (LOL)! Seriously, a good time was had by all even if I managed to get run over by a kid on a bike (!!) and it took all weekend for Jason and I to recover. Please continue to keep our hurting brothers and their families in your prayers as both still have a long way to go (but yes, miracles ARE happening)!

I would like to extend a personal note of thanks to my fellow Centurion LE Ministry brothers and sisters, including but not limited to JeffCo Sheriff's Deputy Art Briles for helping man the grill and taking pics; fellow State Criminal Investigator Jimmy Wattles; Erv Meyer; Michelle Jones; DPD Chaplain Manny Hays; our wives who helped and put up with us during this process; and of course Englewood PD Officer and MAGTF Director Jason Pearson who, aside from our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, really made this event possible.

I'll have much more in this week's newsletter (targeted to go out Wedneday) so stay tuned! Don't forget our regular weekly fellowship meeting and Bible study set for this Thursday, September 10th (our annual 9-11 memorial tribute), 1900 hours, at Calvary South Denver in Littleton.

Finally, Jason asked me to send out the following "THANK YOU." Please forgive us if we missed anyone -- God definitely knows who you are! Jason wrote,

"I cannot thank everyone enough for the TREMENDOUS support we received at the Densey Cole/Chris Dewey fundraiser on Saturday. We received non-stop compliments from the Chicago and Mahnomen County officers who attended as well as local law enforcement and community members who attended. In addition to the following list, I wish I could personally add the 300+ attendees from various police, fire, EMS and community groups who also came by, as well as the local residents of Englewood who came to show their amazing support for law enforcement. As a result of this event, MAGTF is now set up to take donations. Visit http://magtfdenver.org/donations.htm for donation submissions.
