Emergency Prayer Request for Chicago PD Ofc. Densey Cole

UPDATE from email!!

Diana and I visited with Ofc. Cole at Craig Hospital in Englewood this past Saturday. We were able to pray with Densey and I shared God's plan of salvation and gave him a police officer's Bible (Thanks Pastor Lee!) -- he has not had one since childhood -- along with a department patch and pin (thanks Chief). Diana also came along side Mary (Densey's wife). Our Denver PD brothers would soon take him to the Rockies/Cubs game and I left with the promise to bring him communion and pray with him again this week (at Densey's request).

Now I've received word from Englewood PD Officer Jason Pearson -- who has been regularly visiting Densey -- that our brother has been rushed into ICU for some as yet unknown major medical problem. Densey requested that Jason respond (Jason is one of our core ministry members and was on duty at the time -- no accident to be sure) before he would let the medical staff take him and Jason just called to say that he was able to again pray with Densey before he was taken into ICU. Praise God Almighty, Densey accepted Christ as his Savior!!!

My request is that we all come along side our brother in prayer NOW -- healing, recovery, strength (for Mary too), etc. in accordance with God's will and for His glory. Jason did what our Lord called him to do so we know that Densey's salvation and future with Christ is assured. THANKS to all who prayed as soon as I sent out the email! Jason's sergeant has even assigned Jason to stay by Densey's side and I'll have regular updates coming my way. I plan on heading over to the hospital as soon as I can get free.

Here is some background on Ofc. Cole for those who may not know how he came to be here in Denver (note -- the suspect was taken into custody 3 days later and Densey's weapon was recovered): http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/kdvr-chicagorehab-080709,0,7612388.story

I'll have more in the newsletter and we'll meet this Thursday (for locals/visitors) as usual.
