Update on Ofc. Cole and More -- TCM/CLEF Newsletter

It has already been a wild week but we are, as my pastor says, “staying the course” and will “finish strong.” Lots to put out so please be patient and read on…

MEETING UPDATE (locals and visitors)

We will meet as planned this Thursday evening from 1900-2000+ at Calvary South Denver in Littleton (9052 Ken Caryl at Garrison). Our “usual” spot (Multi-Purpose room) may be booked but we’ll find a spot in one of the education rooms or elsewhere. Call me at 720-371-1022 if you will be late or can’t find us. Our topic will center on God’s expectations of us “on the job,” to wit, how we are to be part of the solution and not the problem. What? Join us Thursday and we’ll “go there” together. It will be most illuminating!

STUDY RECAP

Last week’s meeting was terrific! We had a great time of fellowship with our guests from Alaska and a brother officer brought his wife for the first time. We also concluded our study of what it means to “run to the battle” by piggy-backing on Pastor Gino Geraci’s teaching from John 18:1-11. The Holy Spirit really opened our eyes on this powerful passage of Scripture – especially as it relates to what and who we are as LEOs. See last week's newsletter or the August 4th entry on our website for further details.

UPDATE ON CHICAGO PD OFC. DENSEY COLE

Englewood PD Ofc. Jason Pearson contacted me yesterday reference some emergency medical developments involving Ofc. Cole. In brief, Densey’s lungs filled with fluid and he was rushed across the street into Swedish Hospital ’s ICU where he was intubated and put under anesthesia so that his lungs could be drained. Part of the good news is that this type of issue is not uncommon with paralyzed patients and, as they got to him in time, Densey should recover well.

The second part of the “Good News” is that Densey accepted Christ as his Savior at Jason’s prompting before being taken into the ICU!! That Jason was on duty and able to respond to the hospital was NO ACCIDENT – clearly Holy Spirit inspired! I shared the Gospel plan of salvation with Densey and Mary just last Saturday and we collectively laid hands on our brother and prayed for them before we left. Densey also asked me to bring them communion and I plan to do just that this weekend. Thanks to all who have been/are praying for Densey and his family (don’ stop).

On the same topic, Mary will be leaving for Chicago this Thursday to spend some much-needed time with her family. She is requesting that area officers stop by and visit Densey while she is away -- those involved locally in this ministry will most certainly do so. Mary told Jason that this latest set back will undoubtedly wear on her husband’s spirit and she is asking for “visitors galore” to keep him occupied.

We will keep everyone updated on Densey's condition as the information comes in. Pearson is arranging a BBQ tribute/fundraiser for Densey and his family. Todd notified me that a benefactor recently supplied the entire Broomfield (CO) Police Department with copies of his book! I was in the process of supplying a copy to Densey but someone beat me to it. PRAYER REQUESTS

(1) Continue to pray for this ministry and our ongoing outreach to those within our own ranks.
(2) Pray for our leadership both at the national level (government) and in law enforcement: conversion, biblical worldview, etc.
(3) Canadian officer David Greenhalgh is currently in Uganda attempting to impact the corruption both in government/police but also within the church. He writes, “There is some incredible warfare going on here. To illustrate - A local intercessor, a very godly young woman, spoke at church yesterday about praying against a recent spate of child kidnappings. Children around 12 years old are being sacrificed and their body parts buried in the foundations of new buildings. Pastors Ron and Lynn confirm there has been an outbreak of this recently. Some people have been arrested and charged. One of the charged is a qualified medical doctor.The President’s wife and daughter, who were present, are godly people praying and standing against the corruption affecting their Nation. The intercessor also talked about dealing with the corruption in Uganda .Bottom line - the corruption in the Nation directly parallels the corruption in the church. Particularly elements of the charismatic, evangelical and so called "miracle" churches.My hosts have contacts with godly pastors throughout Uganda . I have been provided with a comprehensive and thorough briefing of the utter depravity of a significant number of leading pastors. Prideful, greedy, obsessed with money, serial adulterers, thieves, perjurers, sheep stealers, wife stealers, sodomites, child molesters, serial users of prostitutes, standing in the pulpit on Sundays in their best suits preaching the “word.” Driving home later in one of their limo's to their hilltop million dollar homes. Also numerous Pastors have told my hosts there are Pastors "who will have you killed". It is no wonder that the church is unable to bind the strong men that are at the roots of corruption in this Nation - the strong man has territory in the church.This Nation cannot grow, prosper and defeat corruption until corruption is removed from the church. There is a highly publicized situation here in which the corrupt church is being confronted by righteous pastors walking in integrity. This involves a police investigation and it may involve me in a support role.Please pray in support of the righteous church of Uganda . Please pray for divine wisdom for Ron, Lynn and myself as we seek to find God's will and navigate through this situation.
