Latest Prayer Requests/Announcements
PRAYER REQUESTS : UPDATED 10/17
-- A Christian LEO here in Denver is asking for prayer for himself and his DPD and CSP colleagues as they deal with the protesters here. All days off cancelled, extra-long hours, and more.
-- Our Canadian FCPO brothers sent the following:
Hank Harley, our Executive Director. Hank is going in to University Hospital in London, Ontario on Monday (10/17). Hank will be undergoing surgery to remove a tumour on his brain. At this time it is not known if it is malignent or not. I would ask that you send this prayer request out to your contacts and remember he and Andrea as they travel through this storm. Our God is able to do all things and we trust that He will see them through this.
Hank will be in the Hospital for a few days, and we will keep everyone up to date as information is available.
God Bless.
Marvin Massecar, FCPO-Canada
UPDATE (Thank You, Lord!):
Hank came home from the hospital today. The surgery went well, and preliminary tests show no cancer has spread into his body. It will be 11 days before the Pathological tests come back on the tumour that has been removed. Hank is doing well, but is very weak. He has asked if you can hold off on phone calls until he is feeling better. E-mails are always welcome. He knows that there are hundreds that are praying for him, and both he an Andrea appreciate the support.
I would ask that you continue to uphold the two of them before the Throne of Grace and that we continue to pray for complete healing. Our God is able to do exceeding abundantly above what we ask or think. Let us trust Him for a miracle on behalf of Hank and Andrea.
-- Thanks to all those who prayed for us reference the Fellowship of Christian Peace Officers (www.FCPO.org) National Conference we concluded this past weekend in Chicago. Powerful time! That said, please pray for FCPO Pres. Paul Lee as he nurses a very painful back injury.
-- Pray for a young deputy who may be in trouble over a use-of-force incident. His wife has also left him. Both are believers.
-- Pray for a Chicago-area officer who sustained severe injuries in an accident. Surgeries to follow but that he survived is totally a miracle of God!
-- Englewood PD Ofc. Jason Pearson sends the following: A good friend of mine at another agency has an 11 year old son who needs to have immediate heart surgery for a birth defect that was never fully "fixed" as an infant. Please send out a prayer request for our Brother and his little boy.
-- Chicago PD Officer Densey Cole Update
Many will rememver that Densey came to Craig Hospital here in Englewood (CO) for rehab after being involved in a traffic crash in May 2009. Officer Cole was robbed of his service weapon while trapped in his marked police vehicle and suffered a spinal cord injury when an offender who moved and beat him while stealing his service weapon. Densey has again been hospitalized -- please keep our brother and his family in your prayers.
-- Please pray for all of us traveling to attend the 2011
Fellowship of Christian Peace Officers National Conference in Chicago this weekend. UPDATE: God was moving -- powerful (and those who missed, missed a very special time)!
