This Week's Updated Prayer Requests and Denver-area Meeting Schedule
LATEST PRAYER REQUESTS (see previous prayer request posts for more):
UPDATED 04/13/2011
** A colleague in Llano, TX, sends the following: I have a prayer request for a firefighter that was caught in a wildland fire. We have had an extremely bad fire week. He was overrun by fire and left his truck and tried to run needless to say he is in critical condition. He is at the Lubbock burn center. The last news I got was he was not doing well. Pray for his healing and peace for his family.
** Also on the subject of fires, a Park County (CO) deputy sends this: Lynn Griebel requests prayer for her daughters mother & father in law; Clayton & Loraine Brown who lost their home and entire contents over the weekend. A fund has been set up at Omaha Bank in Conifer if you would like to make a donation to them. May they find strength in the Lord during their times of weakness and may they find comfort in knowing we are praying for them.
** From Chris Wilson: Please pray for a brother officer who is a believer from Las Vegas Metro PD and who is experiencing a major amount of stress right now.
** Please pray for a colleague who is in oral boards for a chief position (God's will, strength and confidence). Pray also for another colleague who is vying for a sergeant's position in NM.
** Colorado State Trooper Scott Hinshaw covets your prayers as he completes the final four days of his "return to duty" FTO training.
** Pray for Atlanta Officer Dean Jackson who is in critial condition after being injured during a foot pursuit. See http://www.wsbtv.com/news/27508414/detail.html.
** Little Elizabeth Jetton and her parents (Chattanoooga PD Officer Sheila Jetton and her husband Matt) continues to wait for a lung transplant. Follow her progress and leave a note of support on their Caring Bridge page: http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/elizabethjetton/journal.
** Please continue to pray for Angie, wife of retired Denver PD Officer/current DPD chaplain and pastor Manny Hays, who is fighting liver cancer and needs a transplant of her own.
** My fellow FCPO National Board members and I covet your prayers as we travel to Chattanooga this week for our Spring board meeting.
** Pray for new NM Special Investigations Division Director Bill Hubbard as he leads my old unit in a godly direction. Bill is committed to true servant-leadership and I'm stoked about seeing SID live up to its potential.
** PRAISE REPORT! Praise God, Lt. Col. David Grossman's faith-based Bulletproof Mind presentation in Tulsa last week sponsored by Travis Yates and Ten-Four Ministries drew more than 500 officers! Dave was very open about his faith and hopefully we planted lots of seeds. It was an honor to serve with Travis and Dave for this very special event. More to come on this...stay tuned!
