PRAYER REQUESTS (updated 03/02/2011)

** Please pray for the husband of one of my "locals" (FCPO-Denver) who is suffering terribly from an extremely debilitating medical condition.

** FCPO Pres. Paul Lee sent out the following prayer request this morning:
John Stuermer’s father, Harris Stuermer, suffered a stroke yesterday. I just spoke to John. He said his father is doing better has been talking and asking some questions. Please keep Mr. Stuermer along with John in your prayers. John is at the hospital right now.

** Pray for a brother officer and his family who are having a very difficult time financially. The stress is also causing additional problems at home.

** Two more officers down in the last few days...pray for their families and colleagues (see http://www.odmp.org/).

** Pray for several officers who will be testing for promotion or transfer in the coming weeks, including one today (02/28). God's will, direction and protection.

** Pray for a new believer (recently came to Christ after retiring from a PD and then losing his wife after a long illness). Our brother needs lots of prayer and support...enemy working OT on him.

** I'm asking you to pray for myself and my fellow FCPO National Board members (see www.FCPO.org/board.html) as we seek God's guidance and direction. We're being stretched both personally and professionally and truly need both your support and God's perfect plan. Trying to juggle our demanding profession, family and ministry is extremely difficult and we all deal with the same issues all of you do. Also PRAISE God that FCPO is growing and doing well. Thanks in advance.

** Speaking of FCPO, FCPO Board Pres. Paul Lee asks that we keep Hank Harley in prayer. Paul writes, Hank is one of the executive leaders of FCPO Canada. Several years ago he was diagnosed with cancer and God graciously carried him to recovery. Recently, while on vacation in Florida, Hand felt something was wrong with one of his legs and went to the hospital to be checked. It was found Hank has a brain tumor. He and his wife Andrea are on their way back to Canada for treatment. Go to the FCPO Canada website at http://www.fcpocanada.com/index.php and see Hank’s photo so you can put a face with your prayers.

** Please pray for Tulsa (OK) PD Capt. Paul Fields who has been reassigned and is facing an IA investigation for refusing to attend and order his officers to attend an event at a Mosque! See http://www.foxnews.com/us/2011/02/23/oklahoma-police-captain-refuses-attend-islamic-event/?test=latestnews.

** Continue to pray for Dep. Roy Hood as he heals from back surgery.

** Please keep my/our own adopted "grandfather" Erv Meyer in prayer (protection, favor) as he spends part of the winter in Arizona.

** Be in prayer for our brother officers in New Zealand who are dealing with the major earth quake that has struck their country. Pray also for their families and all those affected by the quake.

** The St. Petersburg PD (FL) has lost three officers in under a month...the latest being this weekend (see http://policelink.monster.com/news/articles/151019-war-on-cops-continues-third-st-pete-officer-killed). I've had a number of prayer requests from colleagues there...our brothers and sisters are reeling and need your support.
