Dep. Dewey Funeral Details and Centurion LE Ministry Meeting Cancellation

Fellow Servant-Warriors:

The next full newsletter won't be out until later in the week as late-breaking developments necessitate pushing it back. Due to same, I’m also cancelling this week’s meeting as I’m flying out tomorrow (Tuesday) to participate in Deputy Chris Dewey’s police funeral in Minneapolis on Wednesday (08/18/2010). The Lord made it abundantly clear that I was to go (an unsolicited donation to help defray some of the expensive travel costs, an unsolicited offer from a Minneapolis sergeant to provide both transportation and lodging at his house, etc.). Truly "on my knees" stuff!! Accordingly, please keep me in prayer as I seek to honour and celebrate our brother’s life and service while at the same time sharing the truth of the Gospel with the expected 2000 officers, family and guests.

Regarding her husband, Emily Dewey sent out the following today:
It has been a long and surprisingly stressful week trying to make all the necessary arrangements, but they have been finalized: a memorial slideshow will begin two hours prior to the funeral from 9-11am. The service will be held at Living Word Christian Center at 9201 75th Ave N. Brooklyn Park, MN 55428, beginning at 11am. Chris will be interned at Crystal Lake Cemetery at 3816 N Penn. Ave Minneapolis, MN. All services are open to the public.

My family and I remain at peace, knowing Chris is in a glorious and pain free place. We are sad for ourselves, but certainly not for Chris. Thank you all so much for your prayers and messages of condolences.
