Meeting Announcement & Oakland PD Tribute
I'll put out the newsletter later this week but I wanted to remind our locals and visitors that we will meet THIS THURSDAY (April 9th) from 1830-1930 at Calvary South Denver in Littleton for our annual "Easter" Bible study. See http://www.calvarycsd.org/ for address/directions. Accordingly, we will NOT meet Saturday. Please pass this email to your friends and colleagues as this will be one of the most important meetings of the year.
While I'm at it, please plan on attending a "Resurrection Celebration" (aka "Easter") service at your local church this coming weekend. I'll have more on this in the newsletter.
Please be in prayer for our brothers in Pittsburgh. In addition, FPD Chief Gottschalk let me know about this moving tribute to our brothers in Oakland: http://www.spartancops.com/followup-oakland-tragedy/ (click on the Slideshow: Memorial for fallen Oakland Officers).
That said -- and with all respect to all our brothers who "gave all" -- it is important to remember that our service and sacrifice as LEOs does NOT get us a "get out of jail free" card when it comes to where we WILL spend eternity. Do YOU know where you will end up after this life ends? God has given us a choice and His Son made that possible by paying the price for us on Calvary (what "Easter" is all about). HE is the ONLY way to be saved and the ONLY way to "Heaven." Please don't wait as "tomorrow" may well be too late: if you don't know Christ as Savior, see the link on the left ("How to Know Christ as Savior...").
Pass the word, LIVE the WORD, take care of one another, and (God willing) I'll see you this Thursday!
