Dear Fellow Servant-Warriors:

This has been a very challenging month for all of us who serve in our honorable profession. At the same time, it has provided us with opportunities to hone our "warrior spirit." For the Christian officer, this should also have been a month were we went out of our way to share the Gospel with those we serve.

As a reminder to Denver Metro locals and visitors, our next Centurion Law Enforcement Fellowship (CLEF) Bible study will be this Thursday (April 2nd) starting at 6:30 PM at Calvary South Denver in Littleton (go to http://www.calvarycsd.org/ for directions). We'll focus on developing an officer's "warrior mindset" from a Christian/biblical perspective. God's Word repeatedly uses soldiers, police officers (Centurions) and other "warriors" as examples of how we need to think, train and act as Christians. Be sure to pass this email announcement on to your friends and colleagues as it will be a very timely message given the events of this past month.

Speaking of the warrior mindset, check out this great article by Sgt. Glenn French of the Sterling Heights (MI) P.D. While not necessarily written from a Christian perspective, Glenn's message ties-in very well with this week's study topic and also serves to honor our brothers and sisters with Oakland PD: http://www.policeone.com/police-heroes/articles/1801006-Honoring-the-warriors-of-Oakland-PD/.

Let's continue to pray for the families of the officers who "gave all" earlier this month as well as their surviving brothers and sisters in blue. They are facing some tremendously challenging (and disturbing) issues. As Glenn pointed out, we are ALL OPD.

Also on the topic of "warrior mindset," how about our brother in Carthage, NC! Officer Justin Garner stepped up to the plate, did his duty with honor, and no doubt saved many more lives in the process. He needs our prayers and support right now for complete recovery from his wounds and for additional reasons that perhaps only other cops can truly understand. Let's also pray for the families who lost loved ones as well. See http://www.policelink.com/news/articles/101800-officer-wounded-as-he-stops-nc-active-shooter for further.

Speaking of PRAYER REQUESTS, warrior mindset, and officer-involved shootings:

(1) Pray for our brothers/sisters serving in flood ravaged ND and MN. Pray too for all those they serve and protect.

(2) Pray for our brothers in Milton, MA who witnessed a man decapitate his 5 y.o. sister before they could take him out and stop additional carnage. See http://www.policelink.com/news/articles/101807-man-decapitates-5-year-old-sister-in-front-of-officer.

(3) Florida Deputy and author Mike Dye sends this request:

"We just had a recent armed stand-off within our area in which the suspect shot and seriously wounded a young police officer. The officer is blinded (but alive) and doctors are considering a double eye transplant as a result of his injuries. Here is the news link to the entire story: http://www.news-journalonline.com/special/ocstandoff/. I'm not, as yet sure of where this officer stands spiritually as his parents are originally from Egypt, but you never know what God can do!"

Let's keep Orange City (FL) Officer Sherif El-Shami in our prayers. I would also encourage Christian officers in Florida to come along side and share the Gospel with him.

Again, pass the word about our study this Thursday! Stay safe and I'll see you then.
