A Cop's Courageous Faith

This week's newsletter and devotional has gone out to our worldwide subscribers but, as usual, I've posted it here as well. The past week has served as yet another reminder that we as Christian (those born again into a life-saving/life-changing personal relationship with God in Christ) officers MUST have a "Code 3" sense of urgency to both courageously LIVE our faith and share our Savior and His plan of salvation with others (and with our family members and colleagues in particular). Here are but two examples:

(1) The comments that followed a recent article in PoliceOne, Five Traits of Good Street Cops, reveals a snapshot of the depth of hatred in our profession towards things of "faith" (in this case, faith in whatever you decide to believe in - SIGH).

(2) I serve as the President of the Colorado State Investigators' Association and this year's annual training conference was held last week. The fine folks at our venue allowed me to set up our Centurion table where I displayed a plethora of FREE resources. I did not man the table or make any mention of same during my many announcements at the conference but STILL there were those who acted as if they would spontaneously combust if they walked past it, not to mention the few nasty comments about having to see the display. Praise God, this is still America and my table in a private facility was no less egregious than the unbeliever driving by a church whilst on or off duty!

What's my point? We are truly a lost profession desperately in need of the only One who can save us. Ask the Holy Spirit for the courage and faith to boldly live and share the hope we have in Christ with others. As I've said so many times before, the alternative (an eternity in hell) is untenable.

With that, click on A Cop's Courageous Faith. Don't forget to pass it on!
