A Cop's Strength in Times of Trouble
This week's newsletter/law enforcement devotional and Bible study has gone out to our worldwide readership via email but here it is again for those who missed it: A Cop's Strength in Times of Trouble. The Denver-area meeting schedule (left side, scroll down) has also been updated and I've posted new prayer requests below. Please join us in praying for our own.
PRAYER REQUESTS (updated 12/5/2012)
** This is from officer Howie Park at Northwestern University:
"5 yr old sophie, older daugther of Jeannie and Jason, friends of ours from church just had a successful surgery over the weekend (praise God) to remove a malignant brain tumor. Right now she is resting at the hospital and preparing for chemo. Jeannie, who is Sophie's mother, and Sophie's grandmother are at the hospital with her while Jason is at home attending to Sophie's little sister, Selah. Can you please lift up a prayer for this family?
- For God to bring Sophie healing and comfort.
- For God to bring Jeannie and Jason and the rest of their family peace and comfort in knowing that the almightly God is in control and watching over them.
- For our church that we can be loving, encouraging and the shining light for this family during this tough time."
** Prayers today for the family, friends and co-workers of Trooper Kyle Deatherage who was recently killed in the line of duty (see the Officer Down Memorial Page). Kyle was a part of an Illinois PeaceKeepers Bible study group and known my many who follow our newsletters and ministry. For memorial contribution info, go to his Memorial Facebook Page.
Update from Rick Neace after Kyle's funeral: "Very emotional and long day. Awesome turnout from brothers and sisters from across the country to remember Trooper Kyle Deatherage and show support to his family. Also praising the Lord that Kyle was a Christian and is with our Lord and Savior!! Please continue to pray for his wife, two small children and the rest of his family and friends for continued healing and peace."

** Pray for the family and colleagues of slain MN Officer Tom Decker.
** Pray for a Texas officer who is recovering from a very serious hand injury.
** Pray for a Kansas chief who is having a difficult recovery from a recent surgery.
** Pray for an officer and his wife who are in the midst of severe marital difficulty. Neither know the Lord...pray first that they will accept His free (for us, not for Him) offer of salvation.
