This Week's PRAYER REQUESTS, PRAISE REPORTS & ANNOUNCEMENTS
UPDATED 03/30/2012
PRAISE REPORT from FCPO Pres. Paul Lee:
I received this from FCPO Member Lt. Kermit Stokes with the Georgia State Patrol regarding Tennessee State Trooper Sgt. Lowell Russell. If you remember Trooper Russell was involved in a horrific crash several weeks ago. He has been in critical condition and his prognosis was grim. Please take time to give glory to God because He can do things mere men can’t. Please keep praying for Trooper Russell’s recovery and read the update below. I thought I would forward you a message I received from Lt. Daniel Ruskey from Tennessee concerning the injured Trooper from that state. Miracles do happen!
AMEN!
From Lt. Stokes:
In reference to Sgt. Lowell Russell, I believe it is nothing short of a miracle. Believe it or not he has been up walking and doing some talking the last several days. It is not uncommon, when people go to visit, to see him sitting up in a chair in his room. He has been upgraded to serious condition, and they plan to start surgeries tomorrow. They are going to fuse his neck and put him in a halo device. He still has a long way to go but he is doing great. I know that it has been due to the many prayers that people like yourself have sent up for him. Please pass the word along to everyone and tell them how much everything they have done is appreciated. Please keep in touch and thank you again.
** PRAYER REQUESTS Updated 03/30/2012 -- See the updated March 19th post (scroll down) for additional):
** Tony Miano in CA writes,
"Prayers appreciated: I will likely drive to Bakersfield this afternoon to try to share the gospel with the dying father of a dear friend, brother behind the badge, and brother in Christ. Please pray the family allows me into the hospital room. Please pray the family and the dying man (who each believe they know God, in one way or another) will be open to hearing the gospel. Please pray the Lord softens their hearts and draws them (especially the dying father) to repentance and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. And please pray, regardless of what happens today, that I represent Christ well."
** Retired Canadian officer David Greenhalgh asks for prayer for his son Daniel (upcoming hearing) and in ref. to David's upcoming eye surgery early next month.
** Deputy (and fellow detective/FCPO board member) Mike Dye in FL writes,
"Just an update and prayer request for my brother, Chris Dye. Ironcially, Chris has a "docket sounding" on the same date (Wed
03/28 at 9AM EST) as Daniel Greenhalgh (David's LEO son). At this docket sounding, one of four things could possibly happen;
1) The State could drop, or amend the charges called a "No File"
2) The State (or Defense) could formally annouce "Ready for Trial"
3) The State could offer a plea to a lesser charge (which Chris will not
accept)
4) Either the State or Defense could ask for another contineous from the
court (usually 30-60 days) for additional investigative work. (Probablly
what will occur)
We are obviously praying for the first (# 1).
Additionally, since Chris was terminated from his employment, Chris filed
for unemployment from the State of Florida and now his agency (City of
Lake Mary) is objectiing to the State of Florida unemployment compensation.
Just a reminder, he was terminated unlawfully and without due process and
contrary to the Florida Police Officers Bill of Rights which clearly states
that "NO law enforcement will be terminated prior to any conviction in a
court of law." In fact, there has not even been a formal court arraignment
as of yet on Chris' charges and he was arrested on December 7th. In fact,
Chris has never been interviewed by any IA (Internal Affairs Unit) and, or
by the arresting FDLE agent.
New information has come to light that is even stranger. The original
complaining Deputy Sheriff (a 1 year female rookie) was given 30 days
suspension without pay for admitting that she lied to the City of Lake
Mary's Police IA Lieutant during a November 7th IA. Her supervisor, a
female Sergeant for the local Sheriff's Office was demoted from Sergeant
to Deputy and given 30 days unpaid suspension for ordering a subordinent to
alter, or change a police report in this case, and Chris' Sergeant was
given a letter of reprimand for not informing his suspervisors, or for
failing to document a complaint properly. If all this wasn't so screwed up
and civil rights damaging it would be comical.
Had this same investigation and charging taken place with a citizen this
case would have already been thrown out and settled. So, where satan is,
confusion reigns. And yet, Chris' faith has not waivered and he is still
strong believing that the Lord has a plan in all of this....all be it,
wondering what it is."
** A deputy's wife writes,
I have several prayer requests that need your support please:
1. Long time friends of ours are separated because of drug use. Their home is broken and we are praying for God to restore this family.
2. The son of another set of long time friends (his father is a Denver Police Officer) is scheduled to go to trial in a couple of weeks at Jefferson County for Domestic Violence. Please pray that the truth will come out.
3. My teaching license is scheduled to "expire" and I have reapplied for renewal. I am praying that the renewal will come through quickly and that I will be able to find a full-time teaching position within the next three years, or I will lose my license completely and will have to go back to school or.....? I have been keeping busy subbing this year, and I have accepted that it is my "mission" right now. I'm trying not to worry about the future.
4. My husband -- his folks are on a health roller coaster and he is an only child. He will be going down to see them next weekend. In addition his health isn't good and he has had a brutal work week this week.
5. My Mom has several decisions to make about her home, helping others and her health is fragile.
Thank you so very much for your support!
** Pray for a dispatcher who is dealing with major depression issues.
