Latest PRAYER REQUESTS

Updated 06/14/2011

** Law Enforcement National Day of Prayer is this Friday, June 17th, from 0900-1200. See https://www.facebook.com/home.php#!/event.php?eid=214391271922124.

** Pray for a MN officer and his wife reference marriage difficulties.

** A brother in NY asks that we be in prayer for the families and colleagues of the two officers they have lost in the last week: Chemung Co. S.O. Deputy Jeffrey Alexander (www.odmp.org/officer/20873-deputy-sheriff-jeffrey-alexander) and Oneida Co. Dep. Kurt Wyman (www.odmp.org/officer/20866-deputy-sheriff-kurt-wyman).

** From Ofc. Tony Rodriguez in WY:
I have an URGENT prayer request for a Laramie WY Police Officer and her family. Today (06/09/11) this Officer's Todler was injured when she fell into a drainage ditch by her home. I believe she was life flighted to Denver Children's Hospital for treatment. I am not sure as to her current status other than "critical" at this time. I can't even tell you the Officer's (Family's) Name. I am in Laramie for trianing right now and the office was frantic today. I will get more info as soon as I can in the morning.

Again, please pray for this family. The parents lost their other daughter (who was a twin to the one injured today) at birth so they have been through a LOT in the last few years from what I gathered.

UPDATE: I have the sad duty to report that the child has died. Please pray for the family as they are no doubt hurting, angry and more. We serve an awesome God and He has THE plan in all this.

** Pray for Tulsa PD Captain and Ten-Four Ministries Dir. Travis Yates as he heads to Joplin, MO to assist the many officers and their families who lost everything in the tornadoes. Pray for those affected as well...still a long road to recovery.

** Pray for retired officer Dennis Casida who has been diagnosed with a malignant tumor on his adrenal glands.

** In yet another sad example of poor leadership (lack of godly, servant-leadership), Rice University PD Ofc. David Sedmak was terminated for -- get this now -- going to the aid of two Houston officers who had been shot just two (2) minutes from the campus! David needs our prayers and I encourage you to contact the RUPD chief and school president. Travesty! ** Chattanooga PD Ofc. Jonathan Parker of Covered Law Enforcement sends the following: Please be in prayer for an officer's family and department in south GA. I received word from a friend today that he apparently committed suicide after struggling with separation from his wife. I don't know many details at this time, but know that there are many who will need comfort. My friend and his father are pastors and the church is ministering to this need. Perhaps one of you through GA Sheriff's Association is familiar with this or can reach out to the dept?

Blessings,
Jonathan Parker

** Hampden, MA Chief of Police Jeff Farnsworth sends the following in the wake of their own deadly/destructive tornado disaster:
Our area police and firemen could use all prayers we can get. Our area was hit hard by 3 tornadoes Wednesday night. The men and women of our public safety have been doing a job well above expectation working on very little sleep and dealing with our situation. No public safety injuries but 4 civilian fatalities. We're all functioning on about 6 hours sleep in the past 3 days. The clean up continues and we move forward! Makes me proud to see the men and women I lead do a job the amazes me!
Thank you & God Bless.
Jeff

** Please keep Matt Wallenburg in prayer as he heads off to USAF Basic Training at Lackland AFB in San Antonio followed by tech school in Wichita Falls (Sheppard AFB). Training in Texas in summer -- talk about manning a post at the gates of hell (LOL).
