PRAYER REQUESTS:

** Grant Wolf sent the following regarding a brother:
Keith Adams, a contributor to “Stories of Faith and Courage from Cops on the Street,” is suffering from Multiple Myeloma, a type of incurable cancer that starts in the plasma cells. When Keith first sent in his story, he was only in the beginning stage. But in March of 2010, it had developed into full-blown cancer. After several months of chemotherapy, he had a stem-cell transplant last September. Today (March 17, 2011) he is having a six-month checkup to see how far in remission he is. There is no cure for MM, so remission is the goal. He has six compression fractures in his back, weakened ribs and other side-effects from his year-long battle. Currently he is working light-duty in communications, but hoping for the day he can regain his strength back enough to return to the line.
Keith writes:
This past year has been a journey. It definitely has brought me closer to the Lord. When you don’t have anything else but God, and all you have is Him, you really learn to rely upon Him. As cops, we always are “fixing things/situations,” but this is a situation totally out of my hands, so to speak. I definitely have learned to wait upon the Lord and “Be still and know that I am God!”

Please pray for good test results for Keith, for his continued remission and for a faith that does not shrink when faced with a foe like this.

** Travis Yates, Tulsa PD captain and fellow law enforcement ministry leader (http://www.tenfourministries.org/), will be leaving Saturday on a police mission trip to the Philippines. Please keep Travis and his team in prayer (safety, traveling mercies, etc.). Pray also that God will use them mightily for His purpose and that many of our PI brothers and sisters will make a decision for Christ.

** Pray for a colleague who was laid-off but is now interviewing for two positions this week (God's will, direction and provision).

** We continue to lose officers at an alarming rate -- 4 shot this AM in Virginia (2 dead, 1 critical at last report) alone. Two others killed in NY (Nassau Co. and NYPD) over the weekend. I recommend both http://www.policelink.monster.com/ and http://www.odmp.org/ to stay current. Great training info on PoliceLink as well. Regardless, please keep our slain brothers' families and colleagues in prayer -- and STAY SAFE and READY, both in our warrior skills and in our relationship with Christ (both have eternal consequences).

** Police Funeral: Please pray for us here in CO as we lay slain LPD Ofc. Jay Sheridan to rest in Limon (CO). I will be attending the funeral with my Chief.

** Japan: Be in prayer for both the spiritual and physical well-being of our Japanese brothers and sisters dealing with the horrific events in their country.
