Updated Prayer Requests & FCPO-Denver Meeting Schedule

PRAYER REQUESTS:

UPDATED 01/14/11

See Dec. 26th, 2010 post for additional and check back frequently for updates.

** A close friend and fellow warrior (NM Sgt) asks prayer for his father-in-law who will be undergoing triple bypass surgery on Monday in ABQ.

** URGENT! From an officer and his wife who are in the midst of ongoing financial issues: I just got off the phone with our mortgage company and was told that they will be making a decision as to whether to foreclose on us or not. They are saying that we have broken our agreement, which we didn't, and because of other issues we can't refinance or take out a loan to "catch up". On top of that, our washing machine "died" and we don't have the funds to replace it or fix it right now. We are grateful for our neighbors who are letting us do necessary laundry at their homes. My wife also needs a long term/permanent job. We are praying for miracle, please join us. Thank you!

** Please be in prayer for our colleagues in Australia who are dealing with the horrific floods there.

** A colleague "down south" asks that we be in prayer for herself and her fellow officers who will be conducting an extensive, high-risk operation over the next six weeks (safety/protection and success).

** Grand Junction (CO) Police Officer Steve Huskey seeks your prayers and support as he follows God's call to start a local Christian law enforcement fellowship there. If you are a GJ-area officer, please email Steve at huskey@bresnan.net and join him in this effort.

** A colleague requests prayer for a dear friend who, at only 51, has been diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimers. The friend and her husband are both understandibly devastated.

** Our own Matt Wallenburg interviewed for an officer (OCS) spot with the CO National Guard. Please keep our brother warrior in prayer as he seeks hard after God and His calling on Matt's life.

** Please keep Illinois Ofc. Jim Mandarino in prayer. God knows the need and issues -- our call is to lift our brother and his family in prayer.

** We've already started off 2011 with 3 LODD in the first 5 days of the year. The latest was just today -- the Rainier (OR) PD Chief of Police was killed with his own weapon when a suspect wrestled it away and shot him. Chief Ralph Painter leaves behind a wife and 7 children who, along with his colleagues, are in need of our prayers. See http://www.odmp.org/officer/20645-chief-of-police-ralph-painter for details.

** One of our own and his family are in need of your ongoing prayer support. This officer's teen daughter is currently in a hospital dealing with a host of issues in what has been nothing short of a nightmare for all concerned. I don't want to give out any more details in this venue but God, again, knows the need -- just PRAY!

** Pray for a brother who is dealing with some very debilitating pain issues -- so bad that his employment is in jeapardy.

** Denver PD Ofc. Allison Casias is making great progress coming back from a serious medical condition (I consider this a miracle and answer to prayer -- "Thank you Lord!"). Thanks for all who prayed/have been praying. Allison asks that we keep her father reference his our serious medical issues. Allison continues to need prayer as well (spiritual and physical).

** From Scott Israel with the Fayettville (GA) PD:
In the early hours of Friday, December 31, 2010, Detective Wendy Moulder's (Fayette County Sheriff’s Office Detective)home caught fire and she and her family lost most everything. Fortunately they did have a working smoke detector which awakened them and allowed them to evacuate the home with no injuries received. Per Lt. Col. Glaze (FCSO), An account has been set up with Delta Community Credit Union to aid the family of Ken and Wendy Moulder and their two children Macie (age 7) and Jack (age 3 months). There are Delta Community Credit Union Branches in Fayetteville and Peachtree City. The family is still in a state of shock due to this traumatic event and they are currently residing in a local hotel. In the immediate future they will have many needs but they currently do not have a place for storing donated items, therefore what would probably aid them the most is financial assistance. Please keep this family in your prayers. Numerous people have offered furniture, clothing, etc., but they will have a better idea of what they need after meeting with their insurance adjuster.

** I've received word that wounded Utah State Park Ranger Brody Young who was shot and critically injured late last year has improved enough to go home (he was apparently well enough to be able to spend Christmas with his family). Brody has a long way to go and needs on our continued prayer -- both for his continued recovery and that his shooter will soon be caught. Here is a recent post: http://www.deseretnews.com/article/705363381/Injured-park-ranger-Brody-Young-recalls-little-of-shooting.html.
