** Retired Canadian officer and brother-in-Christ David Greenhalgh sent the following ref. the coming hurricane in Australia. Let's pray!
"Queenslanders are only just beginning recovery from the worst floods in modern History. Within the next few hours on 1st February 2011, Cyclone (Hurricane) YASI will come ashore near Cairns, Queensland, Australia. This is a HUGE Cyclone and will be a Katrina size event for that Nation. 600 Kilometres (360 miles) wide with wind speeds of 250kmh (155mph), a tidal surge of up to 7m (23ft) and 4" of rain expected. This amounts to a double disaster.
Please pray for protection for the lives health and safety of Queenslanders.
Please pray for wisdom, grace and strength for Queensland authorities, police, fire military and disaster services.
Please pray that divine intervention will result in many turning their lives over to Christ as happened with Hurricane Katrina.
The message below is from Bro. Stephen Hawes a civilian employee of Queensland (State) Police."
"The cyclone (what we call them in Australia) will hit us at 4pm tomorrow.18hrs time. We would like prayer that God protects those who will experience the forces of nature God has for us. Even when we were drenched by floods, God used the hardships we encountered to build strength of character, compassion, love, understanding & strength in times of hardship.
Today people start putting things they love in high places, photos are taken off walls, backyards cleaned, friends are opening their homes to the needy, we must all work together to build strength. My Police mates are going to tell people to leave their homes and head to safety. Many are not wanting to leave and challenging their own safety. We pray that people see they must move for their own safety.
This is possibly the biggest cyclone to ever hit a country. The biggest cyclone/ typhoon ever. Let us pray for everyones safety, security & strength in this time of great trial.I also found out today that a friend was killed in the toowomba floods. He wad due to get married in 2 weeks. They found him in a pile of mud & trees & household rubbish. He was a boy when my parents cared for him as a foster child many years ago. Please pray for his family & his wife.
We all must remember that our God is Great big God & he holds us in his hands. Whatever happens God will use these struggles that occur to test and strengthen our faith and bring more people to his kingdom. God Bless."
