-- Thursday, July 15th. Same time/place as above.

PRAYER REQUESTS (will be updated as requests arrive):

-- From a colleague with Ft. Carson (CO) PD via my chief -- let's be in prayer for Jim's family and colleagues:
It is with a heavy heart that I must pass along to you that on the morning
of June 18th, one our civilian police officers, Officer Jim Koller, passed
away after a battle with cancer. He was with our department for the past
year and also served as a civilian police officer at Fort Riley Kansas from
2005-2008. Jim was also a retired Warrant Officer and helicopter pilot with
the US Army. He was a true professional that made a positive impact upon everyone he
worked with and he will truly be missed.

-- Travis Yates (Ten-Four Ministries) sent the following concerning Lawton (OK) PD Sgt. John Foster: "On Thursday, June 17, 2010, one of our Motor Officers, my partner, Sgt John Foster was involved in a terrible accident, on duty. Sgt Foster was attempting to respond to a priority call, when a vehicle pulled out in front of him. Sgt Foster did not even have a chance to hit the brakes or put the bike down, and probably never saw the vehicle pull out of the the parking lot. Sgt Foster was thrown 70 ft from his bike, over the hood of the vehicle.

Sgt Foster sufferred a crushed pelvis, a broken foot, broken arm, knee damage, a torn rectum, a torn urethra, a torn bladder and a host of other injuries. He required 10 units of blood at the emergency room and then was flown by helicopter to OU Medical in Oklahoma City, OK, the number one trauma center in the state. He had to undergo 9 hours of emergency surgery to be stabilized that night. Since then he has had more surgeries and will probably have even more. He is currently doing well in his recovery, and we all hope and pray that he will continue to improve. He will soon be moved to a rehabilitation hospital to begin his long hard journey back to a normal life."

Here is a news story on this incident: http://www.kswo.com/global/story.asp?s=12668945

We want to help Sgt. Foster and as we always do with the 10-33 Fund, we also present the Gospel to the officer and their family. While it appears that the agency is financially supporting John, his family including his father (retired law enforcement) has travelled to the area and a financial burden has set in. Jobs can't be worked while lodging and food costs are incurred.

If you would like to help this family, we will send 100% of your tax deductible donation to them along with any note you would like to write. For a gift of $50, we will send you a Challenge Coin. To help you can send a check or money order to:

-- At last night's meeting (June 23rd), we got an update from "Frank" that he has been cleared of ANY wrongdoing -- praise God!! However, their daughter remains under the control of CPS/Social Services and we need to continue praying that this situation will be resolved quickly.

-- UPDATE 062410: Agent Dexter Wells in Virginia asks that we pray for one of his fellow agents over the loss of her husband. Dexter writes, "Ann is a great leader to her agents in Atlanta, GA, and is going through a traumatic time. If you wish to send her a message, her is her info: Elizabeth.Delmas@dodig.mil." Feel free to shoot "Ann" an email and let her know that you are praying for her and her family.

-- Pray for a young officer who is going through a divorce (restoration, repentance and biblical obedience, etc.). They have only been married a short time and his wife, supposedly a believer, left for other than biblical reasons (aka "sin").

-- Please keep the Grand Junction PD in your prayers as their new chief deals with some highly publicized issues (godly leadership and staff being biblical in thier actions).

-- Dennis Casida is asking that we be in prayer for his sister-in-law Angie Casida and his father Chet Casida regarding their serious medical issues (healing, peace, ease of pain, and God's perfect will).

-- Dave Purdle (Ministry 9-1-1) in Michigan writes, "Please pray for the family of Detective Tim Standfest, Clinton Twp MI PD. His son, Jeff Standfest, age 23, died early on 6/16 when he apparently stepped on an IED. Jeff proudly served our country as a member of the United States Marines in Afghanistan. Detective Standfest is a 25-year law enforcement veteran currently serving with the Clinton Township (MI) PD. Cards of sympathy can be sent to: Clinton Twp Police DepartmentAttn: Detective Tim Standfest37985 Groesbeck HighwayClinton Twp., MI 48036

-- Pray for a colleague who is dealing with some tough financial issues. When we we pray, we must ask God to answer in the only way He will answer -- in accorance with His perfect will. Our brother and his family must do their part by dealing with their finances in a biblical manner.

-- Regarding the previous info I sent out about the New Jersey State Trooper who took his own life whilst on duty, I received the following update:"I am writing to ask everyone to say a prayer for a family that were very close to my family when we lived on the farm near Walnut, IA. They moved to New Jersey and their daughter, Erica, grew up and married a New Jersey State Trooper by the name of Scott Graham. Scott had been battling depression and was set to see a new doctor on Thursday, 6/17. He got up Wednesday morning and was very bothered. Erica suggested he call in sick. He said no and went off to work. He was found dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound in his cruiser this morning on an off ramp to the Garden State Parkway. He leaves behind Erica, a 7-year old and two 3-year olds. Please pray for Erica and the children. Also pray for Tom and JoAnn Heilesen and Scotty Heilesen. Thank you. Wade Andersen."May I again be so bold as to strongly suggest that we be "busy" about knowing and caring for our fellow officers...prayer, family issues, duty issues, etc. Let's be proactive about our own.

-- We've had a request to pray for the 5 y.o. son (Ryan -- recovering from brain) and daughter (Addie -- other long-term medical issues) of Nashville Metro Officer Rob Carrigan and his wife Mary Lee (She's a southern lady...:). God knows "the deal" -- our call is to pray and support.

-- Got an update from Emily on her wounded warrior of a husband, Mahnomen County (MN) Dep. Chris Dewey. Both Emily and Chris need our continued prayers. See http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/chrisdewey/journal?jid=5660855 for details.

-- Pray for a brother officer (investigator/detective) and his family. They are clearly in the midst of a spiritual attack by the enemy regarding a family-related matter that is affecting his career and potentially his future. Let's pray that God will provide strength for the battle and that this situation will be resolved in accorance with His will and for His glory. Our brother's teen daughter is also very much in need of prayer. This colleague attended our last meeting and shared what was going on before we came around him in support and prayer.

-- Brownstown Township (MI) PD Officer "Max" Faistenhammer is now here at Craig Hospital for rehab after being critically injured in an accident last month. I was able to visit with him last week and will do so again this week. Please keep our brother in prayer for healing and a full recovery. I'll post more soon.

-- Be in prayer for wounded Chicago PD Ofc. Densey Cole who is dealing with some personal issues on top of his very challenging physical ones. Pray that bold believers will share the Gospel message with our brother so that he will have every opportunity to say "yes" to Christ. Pray also for protection and a covering. God knows what is going on...our call is to pray and "walk the walk."

-- Pray for a colleague (Suz) who has been battleing cancer for some time and underwent yet another surgery on June 18th. She will then have to be in bed (no sitting, standing or walking) for 4-6 weeks after her discharge. That said, we serve a mighty God! Pray that the doctors get it all and for rapid/complete recovery.
