Updated PRAYER REQUESTS

(1) A police chief asks that we pray for his sister and niece (cancer-related issues).

(2) My own Chief’s mom is recovering from a rough total knee replacement – please pray for complete healing and restoration.

(3) Ofc. Quentin Wilson with the Houston (TX) ISD PD writes, "My nephew -- Robert Wilson -- was with Rockdale (GA) deputy Brian Mahaffey who was shot in the line of duty on this past week. Please keep Robert, his colleagues, and Brian's family in your prayers." See
http://www.wsbtv.com/news/23495648/detail.html for details.

(4) Be in prayer for Grand Junction PD as they are once again dealing with some highly publicized issues. A fellow FCPO member writes, “Our department needs prayer again. Three of our officers are under investigation for damaging property in a transient camp. We are still recovering from an officer being charged with domestic violence (he was found not guilty at trial but, of course, that wasn't news worthy) and another who committed suicide after being accused of sexual assault.” Clearly, what that agency -- and all agencies for that matter -- truly need are officers who have a right relationship with Christ and who will lead, serve and protect biblically.

(5) Pray for Tonia Harris (wife of slain Sandoval County/NM Sheriff’s Deputy Joe Harris) and their family. Pray also that the leadership of the SCSO will “step up” and be the godly servant-leaders our Lord has called them to be. Tonia is in DC this week as part of the NPW events. Her warrior-husband's photo is here on our website (scroll down to the bottom) and Joe's name is now inscribed on the very memorial where the photo was taken.

(6) A local Christian officer is not putting his family before his work and personal goals. He has also relegated God to the proverbial “back burner.” Pray that God will “assist” this brother in getting “right” with the Lord and to understand his priorities (God, family, profession -- in that order). Pray for his struggling wife and family as well.

(7) Pray for a colleague and her family reference the loss of their mother last week just before Mother’s Day. I had the honour of attending the funeral today and was inspired by her pastor’s bold eulogy and comforted in the assurance that her mother knew Christ as her Lord & Savior.

(8) Finally, lift me in prayer as I go in for surgery on Wednesday (that God will guide the surgeon’s hand, no complications, and quick/complete healing/recovery). Pray also that I will have both the opportunity and strength to share Christ with the doctors and hospital staff. Down but not out…!
