Seeking Police Stories!

Recently retired FCPO Exec. Dir. Grant Wolf sent the following. This is a great opportunity to share your testimony and get published at the same time. Grant writes,

"How would you like to share with thousands – perhaps even millions - of others how God has worked in your life in your law enforcement career? It might be something which affected you or your family personally, someone you arrested or had to deal with in the line of duty or even your community. It just has to be something which caused you to recognize the greatness of God and how He works in everyday affairs. We are seeking stories from all branches of the criminal justice system: police, sheriff's deputies, Secret Service, FBI, ATF, law enforcement spouses, corrections, 9-1-1 dispatchers, military police, border patrol, etc.

AMG Publishers, a division of Advancing the Ministries of the Gospel, as part of the "God and Country" series has asked me to write a daily-devotional book about "battles and blessings" law enforcement personnel encounter daily. For contributors, this can be the opportunity of a lifetime to share your stories about how God has made a difference in your life and events you encounter. AMG is a highly-respected international ministry which successfully has used many evangelistic tools to reach the lost since 1942. Currently it is reaching a vast world-wide audience through its Stories of Faith and Courage – Battlefields and Blessings. The first four books in this series are in bookstores everywhere (check them out in both Christian and secular bookstores). They are based on true-life incidents from the Revolutionary War, Civil War, World War II and the Iraq/Afghanistan War. Since law enforcement is the "thin blue battle line" on the home front, AMG feels strongly your stories belong in this series. They want very much to make the public aware of the day-to-day conflict you face on the streets. In fact, the title we have discussed is Stories of Faith and Courage from the Streets!

We will be working around "themes" including but not limited to:

-- Holidays
-- "In line of duty deaths" and Law Enforcement Month
-- 9/11/2001
-- Hurricane Katrina
-- 9-1-1 dispatch calls
-- Medical emergencies – including delivering babies
-- Heroic rescues
-- How God got your attention
-- Spouse's thoughts, prayers
-- And many more

You won't have to be concerned with grammar, spelling, length or any other writing details. Just send me your basic story to review, edit and return to you for approval. If you have a Scripture reference you feel is appropriate, send that with your story. If you have an incident relating to a specific event – such as the aftermath of 9/11, death of a fellow officer, "near-death" experience, etc. - that simply will give added interest.

Why should you want to be one of the 365 contributing authors selected for this unique Christian law enforcement book?

-- First, your story may be just what someone needs either to turn their life over to Christ, or to come back to "their first love."
-- Second, it may cause you to remember "that time when" God was so real to you, and gave you "a second blessing."
-- Third, you will be "one out of a million" employed in law enforcement whose story is immortalized in print.
-- Fourth, you will receive your own numbered copy of the Select First Edition printing of Stories of Faith and Courage from the Streets.
-- Fifth, you also will receive a Certificate suitable for framing of your story as a personal keepsake.
-- Sixth, you will receive a special discount on additional copies to share with friends, family and co-workers.

Make no bones about it: this will be a monumental task with an outreach which could last for years. Your story and how God moves in law enforcement lives has the opportunity to affect a vast audience – both in and outside of law enforcement circles.

To be part of this incredibly unique opportunity, please send your story right away. Let me repeat, don't be concerned about writing your story – grammar, punctuation, etc. We'll help you make the finished article very professional in style and appearance - something in which you can have pride.

We know you have that story in you; please release it to give life and hope to others. Just send it to me at: police_stories@ yahoo.com.

If you need more information, just e-mail me or call me at 423/355-7180.

Sincerely in Christ,

Grant Wolf"
