Tragedy in Samoa, Indonesia, and the Philippines
I've been asked to post a prayer request for a Samoan officer serving here in the US who lost 11 members of his family on Samoa (see below). While we're at it, let's be in prayer for our brother/sister officers serving under extremely difficult conditions in Samoa, Indonesia and the Philippines. My brother Lonie is on holiday in the PI right now so please include him as well. We'll also lift this situation in prayer at tonight's meeting here in Littleton (see last post for details).
If you are privileged to be serving and living here in the US, please take time to THANK God for the favour he has poured out on you/us. I have lived all over the world and I can assure you that we are blessed indeed!
Ofc. Jason Pearson (EPD/MAGTF) writes, "Folks, Dennis is one of our MAGTF members. His brother Officer is in a tragic place right now, and I know his family could use our thoughts and prayers. Englewood also has an Officer with family in Samoa, and so far all of his family are okay. Unfortunately, this Officer in L.A. has not been so fortunate. Please keep the people of Samoa as well as the people of Indonesia in your prayers right now."
Original mail USAF TSgt Dennis Kuritz: "Jason, I just wanted to send out a quick e-mail. One of our Department of Defense Police Officers (FLETC and Cal POST certified) is from American Samoa. He has lost 11 family members in the tsunami this week. This has as quite a shock to the unit to say the least. He is in our prayers here in LA and hope you could pass this up to The Centurion Ministry for a little"prayer assistance". The unit is working on getting him time off to go back. I couldn't imaging losing one family member when you are that faraway from home, let alone 11. He is an older officer with the department, so no youngster to tragedy but this has to be overwhelming."
