CHRISTmas and Deception Tactics (Part 2)

My Fellow Warriors in Christ:

CHRISTmas is one week away and I look forward to sending out a special Centurion Law Enforcement Ministry message this coming CHRISTmas Eve. Like many of you, I still have shopping to do but want to remain focused on what we are truly celebrating this time of year: our Savior's coming and purpose. Please join me in making a concerted effort to keep CHRIST in Christmas -- not "Happy Holidays," "Xmas," or the plethora of other so-called politically "correct" (misnomer) words and phrases that are substituted for our Lord's birthday.

As stated previously, our last meeting/Bible study of 2008 will be held this Saturday starting from 0900-1000+ at Calvary South Denver in Littleton (go to http://www.calvarycsd/ for directions). We will be have an in-depth discussion as to whether or not Christian officers should employ "standard" deception tactics in the course of our law enforcement duties. Are they appropriate? What does God's Word say on the subject? Join us on Saturday as we delve into this difficult topic. Also check out the ongoing discussion about this on Police Facebook (http://www.policefacebook.com/ -- scroll down to the bottom of the main page).

Speaking of Christmas and cops: Some might characterize us as being too much like the Grinch but, frankly, I just don't see it that way. After all, we are the original "stalking" stuffers! Get it? LOL. Oh yes, the sweet sounds of groans due to my twisted sense of "humor!"

PRAYER REQUESTS:
Please let me know your prayer requests and needs. Our meetings always prayer-focused and it is my honor and privilege to pray with and for you.

(1) Continue to pray for this ministry as we seek to help bring our colleagues into a dynamic and deep personal relationship with the ONE who is the "reason for the Season."
(2) Please pray for Chief David Gottschalk (Fairplay PD) and his family over the passing of his father (see separate post to follow).
(3) Pray for our military colleagues serving overseas as well as all of us who will be protecting us this Christmas. At least for those of us serving here, we can still come home to our families after our shifts while those serving overseas will not.

Join us Saturday morning for a great hour of "sheepdog" fellowship, worship, prayer and profession-relevant Bible study.

As always, watch your/each other's "six" and remember to keep Christ first in all you do
